I know what you’re thinking—and no, I’m not talking about painting a house. But I like how you think! Piggybacking off of your painting idea—let’s think about makeup as a painter. First, you have a canvas. What does a canvas need to bring out the true colors of the paint? That’s right—a PRIMER! It’s the same concept for your face. Think of your face as a blank canvas; before applying makeup, you need to minimize imperfections. With a primer, your pores appear smaller and your makeup can be applied more evenly. There are several primers to choose from, but my fave is Mister Mat, Mattefying Foundation Primer by Givenchy. This particular primer leaves your face with an extra soft, velvety texture that lasts all day! Your makeup stays on longer and your skin appears flawless! A win-win! Mister Mat costs $36 at department stores.
